SQL Database Management

We provide monthly reports to illustrate the best utilisation of the current infrastructure, how the infrastructure is coping with demand and any other areas that can be changed to improve the user experience.

Our expertise lies in two SQL platforms; Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and MySQL Server. All of the database servers have the option of central external storage through high-performance SAN offerings providing instant scalability. Through this flexibility we can manage a data infrastructure from a single SQL database to a complex multi-site farm of data services.

Monitoring

As part of SQL Server offerings, we can provide full application monitoring, for which you can view the state of all the components in the solution in real time, allowing you to drill down from the state of the services to the capacity of the log files.

Performance data graphs of system health can be used to highlight system bottlenecks and weaknesses in the database structure. Monitors on performance graphs can be configured to best suit your application, alerting on certain thresholds or baseline values using self-adjusting monitors.

Scalability

If you are looking at scale-out options, our team are experts in database infrastructure design. We can discuss various scale-out options, such as DPV, failover clustering, service oriented architectures or replicated data grids.

Reporting

Monitors are coupled with daily, weekly or monthly reporting which can show full database performance analysis of locks, transactions, buffer cache performance and a multitude of other collectable data. All of which can be collated to show service performance and trends in usage for capacity planning. We can provide reports on application availability to pass on as part of your SLA.
