Network

We operate our own autonomous network system based in Reading, Berkshire. It's designed with multiple connections entering our data centre facilities at different locations for greater reliability and additional backup connection to a disaster recovery site. Our network has been designed to provide you with confidence and is delivered over different fibre networks to several Tier 1 ISPs. Operating full BGP4+ for network reachability to enable us to efficiently load balance our traffic and also provide complete redundancy, if one of the connections fails, all traffic will automatically be routed down an alternative connection within seconds.

We have carefully chosen three major providers for connectivity into the data centres: Kingston Communications with some of the best peering and connectivity in the UK, Tiscali, specialising in European telecommunications, and Level 3 with over 20,000 miles of fibre in the USA and Europe, which gives us fast links across the USA. We also maintain our own direct peering with hundreds of ISPs in London including BT, NTL/Virgin, Nildram, Pipex, Janet, BBC and many others providing a fast, direct route for a large proportion of our traffic.

Through being carrier independent, we are able to leverage each of the respective providers’ strengths and service level offering. Enabling us to achieve high levels of resilience and performance.
