Favorit selects DediPower co-location data centre

To deliver innovative web 2.0 blogging application globally

Reading, UK – 15 April 2008- DediPower, one of the UK's fastest growing managed hosting providers, today announced that its Thames Valley Hosting Centre has been selected by Favorit to provide co-location services within its data centre to host an innovative blogging aggregation platform.

With a global coverage in the blogoshere, Favorit required a data centre with solid network resilience and connectivity to house its critical IT infrastructure. Backed by Sun Microsystems, Favorit developed a web 2.0 application that aggregates blogs and centralises the commenting functionality, vastly simplifying the ability to view and comment, without having to access multiple sites. The blogopshere currently stands at more than 80 million blogs and deriving value from this wealth of information requires different ways of leveraging the community to produce new experiences for end users. For Favorit utilising a data centre leverages economies of scale and reduces the risk for their IT investment.

"In selecting a co-location data centre, I was ultimately looking for a company to protect my IT infrastructure, with a track record of remote hands service excellence. DediPower stood out amongst its competitors and their reputation in the market was critical, as a new company offering innovative technology we need to get off on the right foot," said Nick Halstead, CEO, Favorit.

DediPower's Co-location solutions offer customers piece of mind that their servers will be safe and accessible 24x7x365, all housed within a secure environment with fully managed air-conditioning, redundant power supplies and high speed connectivity. Located on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, Thames Valley Hosting Centre is also ideal for companies who are designing disaster recovery requirements into their IT infrastructure.

"Favorit are at the forefront of technology, delivering an integrated blogging portal. At DediPower it is exciting to work and support companies like Favorit who are pushing the boundaries in how we communicate and operate via the internet. Record Breaking Spring and Summer 2006

READING, UK - 21st August 2006 - As summer comes to an end DediPower has seen record growth levels for both managed hosting and co-location services. The number of servers hosted in the Cadogan House data centre has more than doubled compared to August last year.

"The last six months have seen record growth in all product areas" said Craig Martin, Managing Director. "It has allowed us to extensively invest in our staff and infrastructure ensuring our high standards are maintained and also allowing additional upgrades to improve services even further. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their support and loyalty".

DediPower has always reinvested 90% of profits to keep service levels ahead of competitors. A testament to this philosophy is the incredibly low cancellation rate of less then 0.5%. This means less money is spent on advertising to replace lost customers; therefore the saving can be passed back to the customers providing unrivalled value for money. For example, some competitors in the industry spend more money on sales and marketing than actually providing the services they are selling.

New connectivity from Kingston Communications

An initial 100 Megabit capacity has been provisioned providing a 25% increase to current overall capacity, and can be upgraded to Gigabit speeds at short notice if required. In addition, DediPower customers requiring telecommunications services (such as ISDN and leased lines) now have the option of three providers: BT, Kingston and NTL.

"DediPower continue to focus on diversifying our critical infrastructure to supply the best possible reliability, redundancy, performance and choice to our customers. The new direct fibre connection with Affiniti further bolsters our ability to provide industry leading business critical hosting services", says Craig Martin, Managing Director.

The opportunities for customers are also expanded, explains Ashley Rance who is responsible for DediPower's technical infrastructure: "With the continuing convergence of traditional telecoms and IP based platforms, it is important we provide access to both platforms quickly and affordably. Our customers not only have access to our high-performance IP connectivity, but now have a choice of providers for traditional ISDN services enabling easier voice integration with their hosted ebusiness applications."
